Here at the IKBA we believe that kitchens should be happy and nurturing spaces. That’s why we’ve selected The Happy Kitchen by Rachel Kelly and Alice Mackintosh as our Cookbook Giveaway choice for Spring 2017. (And also because we wanted it for ourselves 😉 )

To get the ball rolling we asked author Rachel Kelly for a Kitchen Design tip and we loved what she shared:

“Design in plenty of space either side of the cooker to have room for a variety of cooking oils, spices and nuts. Research shows that a variety of ingredients boosts our mental health but most of us only eat the same 20 or so ingredients each week. Our ancestors ate more like 150. I’ve introduced variety into my diet but having lots of different ingredients easily to hand in jars and pots next to the oven.”
